Quality
It starts with the purpose designed Extruded Aluminium case, high quality removable connectors, and the documentation. Inside the RF screening case are some of the most reliable, top quality electronics available. No time-limited components such as electrolytic capacitors. The biggest plus is the fact that the radio circuitry is purpose designed by Elpro, and is uncompromising- not just a bought in chip. Not to knock the competition- for undemanding applications, such devices will do as required. However, if service outage and lost data is not an option…..
The radio environment has never been so taxing. The advent of TETRA, GSM, GPRS and a myriad of other radio systems makes anything other than a top quality radio’s job very difficult. Interestingly, top quality does not always mean top price.
Flexibility
Elpro probably cover a wider range of frequencies than any other similar company. From the occlusion-ignoring Band 1 VHF (“60 MHz”), through the 170 MHz, 458 MHZ, 868 MHz, 2.4 GHz to the 5.6 GHz WiLan devices, and with Telemetry ( digital status, pulse counts, analogues), Serial modems (RS232, RS485), or Ethernet ( usually including serial and even I/O), if we cannot find your data radio solution, there probably isn’t one! From ultra-low power simple telemetry transmitters to multi-protocol Gateway Radio Modules, we probably have the most flexible range available.
Longevity
A prime consideration for those investing in infrastructure is the life expectancy of products used. This is where the mean-time between failures (MTBF) of 110 Years (EL 105 Series) really counts. This, in conjunction with Elpro’s demonstrated policy of continuous support and compatibility for products means the system’s life span is assured.
Ease of Use
All of the radios have free configuration software, or internal webpages that make configuration easy, minimising the learning curve associated with changing to a new product range. Radios can also be pre-configured if required. Also, suppliers such as Spotcom are only too happy to provide training on the use of the products- because we know you will want more! The documentation is also excellent.
Support
Elpro are careful in their selection of distribution partners- those that offer comprehensive, accessible support and services, and take a pride in their work, are favoured. Very good news for the customers, who have the additional re-assurance of local support as well as the Elpro network to call upon, if ever in need.
